Well, today is the 1st of February (already!) and Valentines Day is just around the corner. So, today’s post is all about some interesting Valentines Day gifts that you can make yourself. These ideas are fun because you won’t find them in stores, they’re suitable for both girls and guys and best of all, they will be made with love.
31 Reasons I Love You. All you need to do for this one is cut up 31 little peices of cardboard, about the size of a playing card. You can either print out photos, draw little pictures or make little collages on each card. Each card is numbered and has a written reason why you love that person. E.g. 1. You make me dinner. This card could have a picture of a dish that’s been made for you etc. The idea is that the receiver will have 31 reasons that they are loved, 1 for every day of the month.
An oldie but a goodie. How about making a set of vouchers that can be redeemed for a hug, a kiss, a massage or another hug? The rules are up to you; you can make a set of 10, 20, you can have an expiration date or not, they can all be for different things or all the same.
Songs are always great markers of time. They remind us of particular events, good and bad and they take us back to fun summers and cosy winters. What if you collate a whole bunch of songs that mean something to both of you and put them onto a cd? Make a cd booklet too, with atrack listing and maybe write a little story to go with each track title. A musical trip down memory lane.
Feeling extra creative? Go down to your local art supply shop and buy some fabric pens. Go to Target and buy a plain white t shirt. Go home and start drawing. Depending on what your t shirt design consists of, it may never make a public appearance, but it will make a cute bed t shirt.
Don’t feel like making anything? These are along the same lines as the vouchers. You can buy a set of 10 love tokens at Uncommon Goods for about $16. Very cute.
Hi Adelle, a lot of lovely ideas.
I love them!
Have a nice day,
Lúcia
Great round up!
