Time Capsule by Jenna Newton 21.5cm x 28cm (8.5 in x 11 in)
10 years ago, my closest friends and I made a time capsule. An old shoe box filled with this and that, old magazines and the most entertaining; letters to ourselves.
The time has now come, to create another one. This one to be opened in 2020! (Oh my gosh! That sounds sooo far away.. but frighteningly not!) Our biggest dilemma however, is what do we actually put in it this time?
I thought I’d call on all of you amazingly creative friends out there, to help us out.
Illustrator Jenna Newton, has generously offered to help us start our 2020 time capsule venture! She’s donating a signed print of one of her illustrations to the person who comes up with the most creative artifact, thingamabob or thingamajig we could add to our time capsule!
What’s so fantastic about her drawing is that it’s one from her Automatic Drawing Series, that she has entitled ‘Time Capsule’. Very appropriate indeed.
Want to win it? All you need to do is leave a comment with your best Time Capsule addition idea! For extra entries of course, blog, facebook, or tweet about the giveaway and let me know in your comment.
Get your creative time capsule hats on everyone – Entries close July 14th!
I would keep all my teeth. Then I can turn it into a necklace afterwards.
Let’s put a jar of iSnack2.0 in there! It would be worth a fortune as they are impossible to find now!
I have tweeted on Twitter about this giveaway for another entry

a picture of mimi and granpa [email protected]
a century egg, and the recipe from Pohs kitchen an extra 10 years should give it that extra kick
I have to say photo booth shots! Nothing is as exciting to me to find years later than old photos! 🙂 Not only do they take on a lovely patina, it’s always a joy to laugh at past trends and ‘looks’… hehehe
a vuvuzela… so you can relive the headache 10 years from now!
a kevin07 poster! yeeha, bye bye kevv
American Idol memorabilia

I would put a bunch of Canadian pennies in there, since they’ll be extinct soon anyway!
I am a dork and keep everything that has sentimental value to me. I for sure would but pictures of everyone I love. My daugther said pieces of your hair, so you remember what color it use to be!
a Justin Bieber cd. we can never allow the world can never forget. JK i love jbiebs
a newspaper because they will soon be relics.
Maybe stick an iPhone in there because at the rate those things are being changed and updated, the kind we are using now would probably seem ridiculously old by the time ten years passes!
Thanks for the chance to win! 😀
your favourite book – everyone wants to use ereaders now. somehow they feel cold and impersonal but it does save paper – i don’t know
a cd/dvd – eventually there will only be downloads
I’d write a note to myself writing out some predictions. First, I’d write the “Positive Prediction” for if my life goes all good, and then the “negative” LOL
A close up picture of your faces so you can see if you age well or not.
A pack of gum.
all my letters in the shoebox.:-)
Buy a cheap little mp3 player and put all your favourite songs on it throughout the years.
Pictures of how each of my dogs has looked at me throughout the years. But, would I recognize myself?
Awesome blog and thanks for the giveaway!
Would love, love, LOVE to win this!
=]
It will need a little bit more storage space than a shoebox, but a body and / or face cast would be fun to open up and compare in 10 yrs. (Kids can just do their hands or feet, because they change so much!)
oooh, another thought:
Your friends and yourself can split the cost on two bottles of a really nice wine (eg a grange). Pop both of them (no sneaking a sip!) into the box.
10 years from now, they will be worth a fortune so you sell 1 and split the profits, and the other you open and enjoy whilst going through your memoribilia 😉
Put a photo of Lady GaGa, and a copy of her music.
Put a copy of Lady GaGa’s music and a photo of her. They will love it!
I would put in a Canadian Vancouver Olympics Coin set and a USA .25 cents State Quarter set.
