It seems that some of the work I’m doing with my Year 7s has inspired the theme for our school Art exhibition this year. What with all the hats and teapots, what else but the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party? Although, I must confess that I am getting a little tired of all the Alice In Wonderland references.
I started by getting the students to roll up a ball of clay, hollow it out, fill it with newspaper and then put it all back together again. They could then add all details like spouts and handles separately. These are not functioning teapots by the way. No tea is getting through these spouts that’s for sure!
These teapots are still drying, then into the exciting kiln.
Of course, when they come to life with beautiful colours, you’ll be the first to see!
Oh, before I forget! Don’t forget to check back tomorrow for the winners of the TOP 20 ART CRAFT BLOG list!! Who will be number 1? Find out tomorrow!
Oh they look so cool. Being a mad teapot collector I would love to make my own (but lacking a kiln :0(. Can’t wait to see them painted up
!!! 😀
My name is Adelle too!
