I’ll admit. I’m very, very excited about this Sunprint product and I can’t wait for my year 11 art kiddies to test this out! It’s basically light sensitive paper! We are doing a unit on Printing and I thought that, in a way, this is a type of printing. You place your objects onto the paper, sit it out in the sun for 1-5mins and the image is transfered!
In my haste and excitement, I didn’t read step 4. (I can’t follow 4 simple instructions! How pathetic?) So I didn’t rinse the paper in water until about an hour later, when I calmed down and actually read the instructions. But it still worked out pretty well.. I think. I’ll get the kids to rinse the paper of course, so we shall see what their prints are like.
My only issue is that the background is always blue, but that’s ok. These prints can then be photocopied, scanned, etc, so the possibilities are endless!!
Hey there Adelle! Thanks for your interest in Sunprints, you can check out more activities and find inspiration at http://www.sunprints.org. Happy printing!
Hi Adelle, apparently if you wash the print (after processing) with detergent, you can change the colours of it to yellow & then brown (tea wash).
Oh! I’ll have to try that!
