I am IN LOVE with this technique I just learnt! IN LOVE, I tell you! All you do, is make some shapes out of Polymer Clay, it could be earrings, a pendant, whatever you like. In my case, I made two square shapes for earrings.
Here’s the fun part! Choose an image that you’d like to transfer to your clay. You’ll need to make a print out of your image using a laser printer or a boring old photocopier that uses toner ink. You can even do this technique in colour if you have access to a colour printer. Remember though, your image will NOT work using an ink-jet, bubble-jet, desk-jet or any liquid ink printer.
Cut out your images and put them face down on your un-cooked polymer clay shape. Use a ruler or your fingers pat down your image onto the clay making sure it’s stuck and air bubble free.
Next, simply use water to wet the back of the paper with your fingers and rub until all the paper has been rubbed off and the image remains on your clay! Make sure you get all the excess bits of paper off before baking because this will be hard to get off once baked.
Bake as per your polymer clay instructions and voila! I still had a few bits of paper left on mine, but with a bit of sanding, I’m sure I could get it off a bit more around the edges. Pretty funky though, yeh?
