They are finally finished! I started a class Mosaic project with my Year 7 class a few weeks ago and I was a little scared that it would never be complete, but it’s finally done! I started by placing 20 A3 sheets of paper together and I then drew an abstract pattern over the whole thing. I made sure the patterns left big enough spaces for each student to place mosaic pieces in. The little mosaic paper bits can be bought pre-cut and it saves LOTS of time cutting out bits of paper.

Each piece was given a letter so all the pieces were kept in order. It was then up to the kids to find out which letter would border with their letter, find the person with that letter and work out what colours they would be using. This ensured that when all the pieces were placed together, colours would flow nicely from one piece to another.

Everyone was really impressed with how the whole piece looked together. And everyone was really proud of their little contribution.
A tip? Place sheets of clear plastic contact over each mosaic piece. You’ll find that mosaic paper pieces will fall off left, right and centre, as soon as you touch them. Another tip? LOTS of glue!
Wow this looks fantastic!
Absolutely fabulous!
Awesome!
