I bought the fabric to make this jacket ages ago and it was sitting in a pile for ages. I kept looking at the fabric and telling myself to just make a start but the fear of making a huge mistake and wasting a whole lot of fabric was all too much!
I put scissors to fabric yesterday and this is the result. What do you think? The lining isn’t attached yet but you get the idea. I had this vision for months but never had the courage to begin! I finally did it and I’m actually very proud of myself. I even designed my own pattern!
I only made one minor mistake (I cut one piece of the hood incorrectly) but with a little extra fabric I could easily fix that. The thing I love about it, is it’s made from two layers of Sherpa Fleece which equals SUPER WARMTH! I’ll be able to brave this Winter with this baby that’s for sure!
That’s brilliantly clever and strikingly practical! Iblove it (though I always suffer angst when washing clothes that are both black AND white)
Well, I was told to pre-wash the fabric before I used it. So, I think the only thing that I’m concerned with when it comes
to washing, is my poor hand stitching coming apart! The black sherpa was too thick for my sewing machine, so it’s all
hand stitched! Time will reveal all…
looks nice! i like your lining..!
I LOVE it!! and WOW! hand-stiched!!! Kudos to YOU, Adelle!!
YAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!!! 😀
WELL DONE!!!!
ha ha
you finally did it! I can’t wait for it to get cold enough for you to wear it at school!
I know!!! Me too! Although, I don’t know if it’s appropriate for school… hahah… I need to bring it in to school though
to over lock it, so you’ll see it in person!
