Matisse in 3D

You all know my love of colour, and well.. if there was ever a master of colour, it has to be Mr Henri Matisse.
I started this piece a few weeks ago and it’s finally finished. I picked out a few of my favourite Matisse paintings (it was hard choosing!) and transferred them onto a big piece of calico.

I then used seed beads and embroidery cotton to add some finer details. I used my favourite glue, Supertac, to adhere all the little bits and pieces on.

At the moment, it’s hanging here, but it’s going to have to be re-located soon. It’s hard for me to admit this but even I think it’s a bit of a full on greeting as one walks in the front door!
