Here is the lamp that I’ve been working on over the last week. Inspired by the designs of Tord Boontje from a previous post, this lamp was created using copper, silver and gold coloured sheet metal and wire. All I did was cut out leaf shapes of varying sizes and threaded them on to flexible wire, twisting each leaf into place on the wire, about 5cm apart, as I went. The lamp base itself was purchased from Ikea and the ugly paper lampshade that it came with is out in this week’s rubbish. Once I had a whole string of leaves, I wrapped it around each light bulb. This part took a bit of fiddling but it eventually stayed in the position I wanted it.
Love it!
