Before I started this project, I thought – how hard could making s stick wreath be?!
Many sites I referenced said to soak branches in water over night to soften them and they’ll bend beautifully! NOT! Maybe my sticks were too thick, but I soaked my branches and all it did was keep my hands wet and made the whole process terribly awkward!
So I decided to work it out myself and here are my tips. Start with a wire frame. I made mine out of a wire coat hanger. Just bend it into a circle shape. You’ll also need some thin jewellery wire to attach the sticks. Just work your way around the frame, adding more sticks as you go. Try to use as little jewellery wire as possible, by wedging in sticks and weaving them through.
I spray painted mine white, but of course, you can spray yours any colour you like. I made the big red bow out of fabric and used Paverpol Fabric stiffener so it held its shape.
