Grace Kelly and my Marc Bohan inspired op shop dress

I was lucky enough to get a day off school a few weeks ago and head over to Bendigo for the Grace Kelly Style Icon exhibition. Simply stunning.

I fell in love with one of Grace’s day dresses designed by Marc Bohan who is best known for his work over three decades as artistic director of Christian Dior. It’s featured below; the ‘Bayadere’ dress (Spring/Summer 1967).

Now, I’m not claiming to have found an exact replica of Grace’s dress nor a Christian Dior garment – far from it actually. Rather, I picked this up from the Salvos in Chapel St today for $10!

But I must admit it did make me think of the Bohan dress I saw at the exhibition. I’ll probably wear this once, next Summer, but for $10, that’s ok. I love it.
