How delicious are these earrings?? I was trying to find REAL orange earrings, as in, made from real oranges, but it seems like they don’t exist. Hasn’t anyone figured out a way of preserving fruits and making them into jewlery? If you know of any, please let me know!

I know this is a month late but was skipping around your site so…
Have you tried epoxy resin? I imagine if the orange slice (or segment or whatnot) was fully encased in a clear resin it would be “preserved”…
I’ll double-check with my husband though – he’s a composite specialist so he’s the real expert!
That would be great if you could find out! I should really just try it and see if it worked. I don’t think it will though, simply because I know what happens to resin if any kind of moisture is present. It just doesn’t set properly. I imagine that the fruit would have to be preserved in some other way first, before it’s put into the resin.
Okay, so talked to the hubs and he said the resin would probably be okay but since there would be air trapped in with the fruit it would create it’s own…um…gross environment. Not pretty…
However…if, for example, you thinly sliced the orange on a mandolin and dried it in a food dehydrator into a crisp lovely little jewel you could resin-coat it and make a gorgeous pair of earrings or a necklace, etc.
In fact, let me know if you do that ’cause I’d love an orange slice pendant!!
