Have a guess where I went today. I’ve been dying to see the Salvador Dali exhibition at the NGV for a while now but I’ve had an excursion with school planned to see it and today was the day. It took a good two hours to get through the entire exhibition with about 6 rooms of works, however, I felt that they exhibited a lot of his less significant pieces. Hundreds or drawings and etchings abounded but my favourite painting, ‘The Persistence of Memory’ was sadly no where to be seen.

We ended our afternoon with the movie ‘van Gogh; Brush with Genius’ at IMAX theatre. No popcorn for anyone because the bus driver and his better judgement, decided to take the scenic route to the theatre when we were already running late! I always have a heavy heart when I think of the life of van Gogh. Vincent narrated the story of his life alongside two of his ardent admirers, as they took us on a journey to the source of his inspiration, vitality and freedom. Ahhh and the colours! Genius.
Sounds like you had a fantastic day Del 🙂
I don’t claim to know anything about art – but I did enjoy seeing some of the most famous paintings in New York such as Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” 🙂 And Dali’s “The Persistence of Memory” *psssst – I had to google the paintings ton find out the names lol*
Hi Adelle,
What a fantastic work on the mirror!
Love Van Gogh…
