The last time I attempted to make candles it took me about 3 weeks to get everything together! I had to source wax, scents, wicks and of course, the perfect container (I ended up using op shop jars). So when Crafty Candle Supplies sent me one of their candle making kits to try, well.. I wish I’d have known about them the first time!
The loveliness begins as soon as you see the box! Then it just gets lovelier and lovelier as you get stuck into the box of goodies.
The kit comes with everything you need to get started. You get to choose what kind of container you’d like (so hard to decide, they’re all pretty beautiful.) I chose the hammered copper. I also chose Blue Tangerine and Vanilla for my scented oils. Wish we had smeller-net. They are totally scrumptious!
The longest part of the process is melting the wax but it’s pretty much done with a few scrolls of Instagram. Once the wax is liquid, the rest is so easy. In fact, I was wishing the process was a little more challenging or took a bit longer!
Once the wax is poured, well.. that’s it! It’s so cold here in Melbourne right now so the wax was solid within a couple of hours. Instructions do say however, to wait 24 hours before lighting them.
The whole process took just under an hour. I got it all done during one of Ivy’s naps and I even had time for a cup of tea!
Kits start from around $65 and you can get your’s at Crafty Candle Supplies.
