One of the things I miss most about living at my family home, is the garden. Dad has quite the green thumb and whenever I pop over he’ll most likely be outside pruning something! It was always nice smelling freshly cut lawn and just sitting amongst the colour green. Anyway, today is Dad’s birthday and upon Mum’s suggestion (I think she’s sick of buying lemons), I bought Dad a lemon tree. They’re quite the investment once you get one going. I started growing chinese vegetable seeds too and they have gained growth really fast.
Here it is all wrapped up..
While I was at the nursery this afternoon, I saw the cutest things on the counter! Ceramic garden mushrooms! How cute are these!? I think I might get some of my students at school to make some!! Great Mother’s day gifts!!
They sell them at Town & Country Gardens, 1280 Malvern Road, Malvern. They were about $12 each.
Or you can buy some online at Art By Conny. They’re all made by hand so your mushroom will be like no one else’s mushroom!
Hello Adelle,
My father had a green thumb too and taught a lot about gardening. I did all the landscape gardening at my anterior home. And I liked so much. Actually I live in an apartment and I have some plants and flowers.
The mushrooms are so cute, so colorful!
Bye,
Lúcia
Yeh.. I live in an apartment too.. and I miss having grass! I do have lots of pots of herbs growing though… except the heat wave that we had this year has almost killed a lot of the plants that surround my courtyard… 🙁 – adelle
