Last week in my lunch time art club, we decorated Calico Bags with our own fun designs. It makes for a much more interesting ‘green’ bag.
We used all sorts of fabric mediums including, fabric crayons, fabric paint, markers, stamps rolled with fabric paint and my favourite, Crayola Fabric Markers!! All of these mediums are fastened with a hot iron.
They all turned out pretty cool, with lots of the girls writing eachothers’ names all over their bags, with rainbows and butterflies everywhere! I love a good rainbow as much as the next person, but I think they would start to drive me nuts, if I worked in a girls’ school.
Anyway, I hope the girls use the bags as a colourful and funky alternative to the yucky plastic shopping bag!
