This idea is a simple one. I wanted every student to create a mini artwork that they could share with their parents. But noooo… This wasn’t going to be the artwork that gets lost, or crumpled up at the bottom of their school bag. I was going to send these works directly home! Each as a little postcard with a personal note to each student’s parents about their child’s participation in Art.
There were no rules to create the artwork, other than to have fun and express ourselves. One side had the art, and the other a little note from me.
Of course, I didn’t tell students that this was my plan.
The response from parents was lovely. Many emailed me to say thank you, others even called to express their thanks.
I hope to continue this tradition with all my future year 7 classes.
