Two cans of paint
I went to my local hardware store today for 2 cans of paint. I walked out with about 12 items! I totally irritate myself when I do that. It’s all just so tempting!!!
Here’s a list of what I walked out with *hangs head in shame*…
*Some crawling little cactus flowers x 3 (impulse buy)
*A pot for the crawling little cactus flowers (impulse buy)
*Summer sunset (navy), sun yellow and cream acrylic external paint, plus a can of primer and a can of ‘Lace’ gloss enamel
*Paint stripper
*Plastic sheet protector
*Scraper
*Paint brushes
*A strawberry plant (VERY impulse buy)
All the paint items are for my DIY project this week – giving a coat of paint to the chairs below. Sanding the two on the right was back breaking! Urgh. I still didn’t get all the old paint off but it will just have to do! The paint stripper was HOPELESS!
Just looking back at my list – 14 items! Eeek! Oh well, it’s all in good fun. Check back tomorrow and have a peek at my happy new garden chairs!

lol! I ALWAYS do that! The other day, I went to an office supply store for just 3 things: printer ink, pen refills, and a new calendar book for 2011. I left the store $95 and two huge bags later, minus the calendar book!! (I LOVE office supply stores!!
The plant looks like (not sure how it is spelled, but it sounds like this:) a Portulaca. My mom always grew those in Massachusetts, USA, and they did very well, so I never thought of them as cacti. I always loved to see the colorful flowers as they popped open. I love your planter box!

oohh Pam, I love stationery stores too!!! However, I seem to have more self control at those stores as opposed to hardware stores. Yes, I think the flowers are Portulaca.. something.. I forgot to take a proper note of the name on the tag.
One of the chairs is finished… the other is still in limbo…
