What is it your company does?
I make handmade fabric accessories including necklaces, bracelets, as well as tote bags.
Tell us a bit more about your work/company:
Toastory offers exclusive handmade fashion accessories. Every single piece is one of a kind, high quality and in limited quantity. From here, you can find a unique style of accessories that bring you a new, stylish look.
What makes your work unique?
I try my best to create accessories that don’t already exist. I hope customers would find something unique and perhaps something that represents them.
How long have you been in business and how did you start out?
I started Toastory only this summer. Before I started Toastory on etsy, I was thinking about going to flea markets, or some market fair to sell my designs. However, I ended up choosing Etsy because I think it is a great way to run a small business.
Why did you name your company what you did? Does it have any special meaning?
I named it “Toastory” because I was trying to come up a word that combined “tote” and “accessory”. Toastory was the end result.
What 3 words best describe you:
Energetic, whimsical, optimistic!
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you “grew up”?
I have dreamed of being a small business owner since I was small because I can make and sell things that I like. Now, I am still striving for this dream to come true.
What/who inspires and/or influences you?
My inspiration comes from everywhere of my life, such as visual objects and garment components. I love deconstructed pieces, and I apply these ideas to my accessories. I then try to make them wearable.
Are there any magazines, blogs or websites you are loving at the moment?
Surface Magazine. It always has cool, inspirational images featured.
