Tell us a bit more about your work…
Anyone can buy the $0.99 bag at the store for their groceries but why?! My bags are gorgeous and can be used for anything, not just groceries – park toys and trips to the beach, one friend uses the bag I made for her belly dancing clothes, another uses hers as a “cruisin’ around town” bag,…endless possibilities.
So how are your products making a greener world?
All of my market bags are eco-friendly – no more plastic or paper when you’re shopping – and they can carry a lot!!
How long have you been in business and how did you start out?I’ve been making these bags for a few years – keeping some, giving more away to family and friends. Everyone loves them and kept telling me I had to sell them. I’ve been a member of etsy for a couple years but only set up shop last year.
What 3 words best describe you…
My husband says: vibrant, intellectual, and centered. I probably would have said: generous, shy, and wacky.
What/who inspires and/or influences you?
My grandma E. – she is an incredible woman. My grandfather was gone quite a bit for work and she raised 4 beautiful daughters (mostly) alone in the late 40s through the 60s. I don’t think there was anything she couldn’t do!
My mom also inspires and influences me. She is so strong and dynamic, with the most open and loving heart. I don’t think I fully appreciated our relationship until I had my son. Now I strive to be the kind of mom and friend I was lucky enough to have.
What do you want to be doing in 5 years time?
In 5 years I want to be doing something creative and fulfilling, whatever that may be.
I try not to set specific long- range goals – life changes and I want to be open to opportunities in any direction.
What advice do you have for other artists, crafters and designers?
Just do what you love for as long as you love to do it. I know everyone says that but there’s a reason! It’s a “truth”…
Do you have any special events or promotions coming up?
Through October 2010, 80% of the purchase price of everything in my etsy shop (with the exception of the Avon Walk bag) will be donated to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

I love the little black market bag, I think It would be really cool with a purple or green bottom instead of the grey one. I would totally use this when I go to the produce market, and as a purse.
