Paper Portraits

Paper Portraits

My year 9s and I are looking at Portraiture this semester. I only wanted this little project to go for one lesson and I’ve been blessed with such a great class this semester, so one lesson is amazingly all it took! We used cut out bits of coloured paper, scissors and glue. It’s nothing extremely innovative, but they enjoyed it and I think I’m going to colour copy them and continue using these as a basis for another art piece… We’ll see… Anyone have any ideas of what else we could do with these colourful faces?

If anyone has any fun and innovative portrait lessons, I’d love to hear about them!

  5. Hi- Just came across this today! You might like our printed portraits- we used foam plates for an easy way to print the features. (Ages 6-11, after school art program, so your results with older students could be wonderful!)
