I'm finished box

If you’re a teacher, you’ll know how annoying the phrase, “I’m finished!” is. Especially when there is half an hour in the lesson to go! So here is my solution. Introducing the ‘I’m Finished’ box! I wrote a list of 20 different half hour art tasks, typed them up and stuck each one onto coloured card. Each card was then laminated and placed inside the ‘Im Finished’ box.

I made the 30cm long box pretty quickly out of balsa wood and a glue gun. I glued on a bit of felt as make shift hinges. I’ve used it already too! “Miss! I’m finished!” “Pick a task from the I’m finished box.” Ah, it’s a thing of beauty.

Quite fitting too, that today Kevin Rudd said “I’m finished”. Pick a card Kevin!

love it, very clever! so do all your students now not mention they are finished so they can avoid extra work?

That’s a really nice idea. I have a spare worksheet drawer but it means that I have to always make sure there are exciting pages in the drawer. I will definitely try this. Thanks!
