Andy Warhol Shoes

I’ll be frank; I NEED a new pair of winter boots. My old favourites have holes in the soles and well, they just won’t do come the winter rain. I could get them re-soled because I love them so, but that would probably cost me nearly as much as a new pair.

It took several decades (!!) to find a pair I liked last year and I’m not really looking forward to going through all that again! If only I had an endless array of Andy Warhol shoes-  that would solve everything!

I’m studying Pop Art and Andy Warhol with my students at the moment and I found these pictures in a book titled Andy Warhol Fashion, Foreward by Simon Doonan. The book is a gorgeous gallery of whimsical fashion illustrations by Andy when he worked as an advertising illustrator and commercial artist.

Witty drawings; fanciful shoes, chic hats, smart suits, and the perfect accessories to match, the book is literally pocket sized and well, I’d carry it around in my pocket.. alas, I wear skirts.

Now, beyond the pages of this book, where do I find interesting winter boots? Any ideas my friends?
